Hotel Brokers International Celebrates Hotel Sales Successes of 2022
Ford C. Barton Named Hotel Broker of the Year
Hotel Brokers International, the nation’s leading hotel brokerage network, celebrated the successes of the past year during the organization’s 64th Annual Meeting held in Las Vegas, February 22-23. Edward P. Walsh, HBI President, presented the following hotel real estate sales achievement awards:
Ford C. Barton, Principal of Lodging Partners, LLC located in Charlotte, North Carolina, received HBI’s highest honor – Broker of the Year. Barton received this recognition of excellence in hotel real estate brokerage based on outstanding sales volume and participation in the industry. Barton was also recognized for structuring the Single Asset Sale of the Year and his brokerage firm, Lodging Partners, was recognized for producing the firm’s collective best in dollar volume of hospitality transactions. Barton is a 35-year hotel industry veteran and has acted in hundreds of hotel transactions, with an aggregate value exceeding $2.1 billion.
Awards were given to the Top Brokers by U.S. Region in 2022. Errol A. D’Souza, CHB, President of Laurel Real Estate Company – a specialized hotel brokerage firm located in the Columbus, Ohio area – was named Top Broker of the U.S. Central Region. Mr. D’Souza’s brokerage firm, Laurel Real Estate Company, was recognized for producing the firm’s collective best in both dollar volume and number of hospitality transactions.
Joseph P. Kennedy, CHB, President of Crystal Investment Property, LLC of Vancouver, Washington, was awarded Top Broker in the U.S. Mountain/Pacific Region.
Alex M. Salens, Senior Sales Associate, Alpine Realty Capital, LLC of Ann Arbor, Michigan, was awarded New Associate of the Year in recognition of his stellar first year in hotel real estate sales.
Four HBI Brokers were also announced as winners of Crexi’s Platinum Broker Awards, recognizing the highest performing brokers on the Crexi platform. Those HBI Brokers recognized in the Sales category include Errol A. D’Souza, Laurel Real Estate Company; Dan Emert, Prime Investment Properties, LLC; Brent Jaynes, Leisure Real Estate Advisors, LLC; and Joseph P. Kennedy, Crystal Investment Property, LLC.
